While studying opera at the Australian National University, Carl Fidler was destined to meet young classical guitarist and 60’s Latin pop guru, Teo Dimov. The two became instant friends and continue to create music together to this day. Teo introduced Carl to the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim and the hypnotic grooves of the Bossa Nova and the Samba. This encounter spawned a life-long love affair with latin music which lead to a succession of residencies across Australia and France.
With this release, Carlo pays homage to his old friend Teo and follows on with their passion for Jobim’s beautiful and sensitive songwriting, creating space for complex textures and his lush vocals to shine.
